Tsa-Tsa Offerings

Lakha Lama’s Tsa-Tsas

In the spring of 2020, Lakha Lama suffered a blood clot in the brain and lost his mobility. He chose to dedicate his time to dharma work by making Tsa-Tsas and put all his blessings into these, together with auspicious prayers for the benefit of all living beings.

Tsa-Tsas are small votive offerings made with a mold. Due to being physically weakened, it took Lakha Lama a long time to press clay into each mold and then paint the Tsa-Tsas. Despite this, he kept going almost daily for several years, making over 10,000 Tsa-Tsas in relief form, until finally he didn’t have the strength to do the work anymore. Many were given away, but 1,000s were left.

In the summer of 2024, Lakha Lama’s wife, Madam Pia, decided to distribute the Tsa-Tsas and the great blessings they contain, so that they could benefit as many people as possible. She came up with the idea of mounting the reliefs on wooden boards, with custom-made, gilded wooden frames. Lakha Lama approved and was extremely happy with the result.

Tsa-Tsa Meaning and Motifs

Tsa-Tsas are made out of clay from molds with sacred Buddhist motifs. They are often used as votive offerings placed on altars and at sacred sites.

Each small Tsa-Tsa has reliefs of three long-life Buddhist deities: Amatayus, White Tara, and Namgyalma. The large Tsa-Tsa in the center of the montage has an image of Buddha Sakyamuni.

A small group of Lakha Lama’s many students helped make a limited number of the framed Tsa-Tsa assemblies, which have been distributed in Denmark. The remaining loose Tsa-Tsas are being sent to the Tibetans in Lakha Lama’s homeland.

Blessed energy around the project

It is as if a wave of blessing from Lakha Lama’s Tsa-Tsas has carried the project. Many happily gave their time and skills and several said they felt completely charged with energy after working on the project.

We did not dare to send the fragile reliefs by post, so they have been carried by hand all over Denmark by our fantastic network of helpful people. Helpers were willing to make big detours to bring Tsa-Tsa assemblies to people all over the country. Some helpers acted as parcel shop hubs and distributed large numbers. There has been a special energy in this heartwarming way of conveying Lakha Lama’s blessed Tsa-Tsas and small miracles have occurred in the process.

A big thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible, and thank you to all the buyers for your interest and support. Lakha Lama has followed the whole process and is very happy to see his Tsa-Tsas being passed on for the benefit and joy of so many.
